Catherine Hale

I am a disability inclusion expert. I bring thought leadership on Energy-Limiting Conditions in the workplace and a strong track record in disability research to my role at Astriid.

I have been leading change in the disability sector for over ten years, challenging policy and getting disabled people’s voices heard on the issues that matter to us most. I produced research reports for charities and Disabled People’s Organisations including Mind, Action for ME and Inclusion London. I have given evidence to parliamentary committees and partnered with academics from the Universities of Leeds, Kent and Liverpool in coproduced research.

I founded Chronic Illness Inclusion in 2017, with the aim of bringing invisible illnesses and fluctuating conditions onto the disability rights agenda. My biggest achievement with CII has been developing the concept of Energy-Limiting Conditions, now recognised by policy makers and welcomed by disability rights experts as ‘groundbreaking’ in this field.

I join a fantastic team at Astriid with a wealth of knowledge in inclusive employment for people with long-term, energy-limiting conditions and disabilities. I’m proud to be developing Astriid Consulting. My mission is to share our expertise with businesses wanting to address the workforce challenges of long-term conditions and progress on their disability inclusion journey.
